2018 has been a great year for the Chamber and I’ve really appreciated our committee & how they have all contributed to making our Chamber so successful this year.

Apart from the warm friendships we’ve forged within the committee & membership this year, I’ve been very happy to see the response we have evoked to the issues which we’ve tackled on behalf of our members and the wider business community this year.

What’s great is that we are working regionally to promote & support local business which comes from a true conviction among our committee members to do whatever we can for our fellow community members.

In particular, I’m proud of our press releases & action on the Dial Irrigation Scheme, Central Coast Council & the NW Tasmanian Meat Industry. Promoting & supporting our agricultural industry has been a priority for our Chamber this year & our influence is increasing as we become more strategic.

In the new year, I can see us moving towards being extremely active in raising awareness around other important issues in our region so get your pens ready team, its time to become very visible in the media in 2019.

I’ll propose that in the new year, we select not only an event for each month but an issue to raise or follow up on, making us one of the hardest working & most active Chambers of Commerce in the region.

We also hosted a very successful Business awards dinner, the #voteforsmallbusiness campaign, many get-togethers & the TCCI Saul Eastlake dinner. We were well represented in the media this year & each time we host an event or represent an issue in the media it brings positive attention to our region.

I believe that each of our committee members should be proud of what you have contributed to your Chamber & business community this year & it’s been a pleasure to see each member of the Chamber taking on ownership of our cause as we travelled through the year. It’s been your contribution which has made us stronger this year,

Special, heartfelt thanks go to:
