It’s been a very busy October on the Central Coast with the running of the Australian Masters Games in our region.

Well, what a smashing success the games were. I know from talking to many athletes, their families, supporters and volunteers that our visitors from Tasmania and the Mainland really enjoyed everything that was put on by the North West Tasmanian community.

Well done folks, you did our region proud!

A big thank you should also go to the organisers and the sponsors of the games including Events Tasmania, CAS, Cradle Coast Authority and all the councils including the great work which our Central Coast Council did in preparation and facilitation of the registration day for the games.

So what can we learn from the games?

  1. Nothing is impossible when you have the vision to succeed.
  2. It takes teams of passionate & committed people to get things done.
  3. If 90-year-olds can run in the Masters Games, then none of us have an excuse!

Seriously guys, well done to everyone on a great event, it really did showcase our region & our people and it brought thousands of extra people through businesses right across the North Coast.

Now on to the next big event for the Chamber Of Commerce, that being the Business Awards. The nominations are all in and there are some very interesting submissions from some awesome businesses. It’s great to see a wide range of local businesses in the running for our awards this year.

The Awards will be held on Saturday 25th of November at 6.30 at the Ulverstone Recreation Centre and it’s going to be a great night celebrating the year together.

Tickets are selling fast, so bring your whole team along and book a table.

You can book your tickets here >>>

So that’s what we’ve been up to this month and we look forward to sharing a drink and a great meal at our business awards with you.

Kind regards,

Nathan Kelly
