Too many business people get confused with how to write an effective blog post, so I thought I would show you exactly what I use for my clients and demonstrate to you how easy it really is. Here’s my blog writing formulae that’s easy to follow.

#1 WRITE AN ATTENTION GRABBING HEADLINE.

Sometimes people will only read your post if it immediately grabs them, so be bold and get straight to the point – Do not be boring or it will kill your chances of connecting.

#2 – FOCUS ON ONLY ONE THING!

Only ever focus on one topic per post and make sure that your post matches your headline. People hate clickbait (having headlines which advertise one thing but deliver another.) Be clear and concise and stick to one main subject and you will keep their attention.

#3 GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT NOT WHAT YOU WANT.

Your post should be about your clients or prospects, NOT about you. Focus on what they are experiencing, what’s their pain, goals, aspirations or what tasks they need to accomplish. Talk about them and you will get their attention, talk about yourself (too much) and they will turn off.

#4 USE NUMBERS & BULLET POINTS

People love to scan read these days, so give them the overview using bullet points and numbers. This way they know how much time it will take to read through your post and whether they want to connect with you or not.

#5 USE A MAXIMUM OF 300 WORDS

Most people read at about 200 – 300 words per minute, so limit your word count to what they could digest in 2-3 minutes. People are too busy these days to read huge articles. Better to write a few engaging posts than one gigantic one which no one has time for.

#6 INCLUDE A ROYALTY FREE IMAGE

A picture paints a thousand words, so let an image tell your story, but choose it carefully and always go for a royalty-free library and avoid getting into trouble with the owners of the image.

#7 DRAW A CONCLUSION FOR THEM

Blogging is a very effective way of drawing in your ideal premium clients. It’s also an important part of your websites SEO. You should write a blog at least once a week and now with this simple formula, it should only take you about 15 to 20 minutes each week. It will be worth it in the long-run, so just be persistent and build up a great body or work.

#7 TELL THEM WHO YOU ARE BUT IN A CONCISE WAY

While we never want to brag or sell in a blog, its ok to tell them who you are, what problem you can solve for them and what your remarkable solution is. Just be clever and concise about it, that’s all.

#7 GET THEM TO TAKE SOME ACTION.

As a marketing consultant and coach I work with businesses all over Australia on strategies which help them to attract, convert, close & delight their ideal, premium customers. If you’re feeling stuck, dazed and confused with your marketing, feel free to call me this week and I’ll see if we can help you clear the confusion.
